As always, we sang a wide variety of carols old and new at our Christmas concert, which was much enjoyed by all. Some carols included audience participation, and Jubilo was accompanied by The Edinburgh Players.

For our spring concert, Jubilo performed the exciting - but difficult! - Chichester Psalms and West Side Story Suite by Leonard Bernstein, following this by rocking St Cuthbert's Church to the rafters with Duke Ellington's Sacred Concert, accompanied with great spirit by The Razz Big Band.

In a bit of a departure for Jubilo our 2023 concert featured a stunning programme of choral music with a jazz flavour. The concert included A Little Jazz Mass by Bob Chilcott, Songs & Sonnets by George Shearing (with a little help from Shakespeare), as well as pieces by John Williams, Randall Thompson and Morten Lauridsen. The concert was led by our director, Libby Crabtree and we were joined by soloist Anita Okienko.

Mendelssohn’s “Psalm 42” and Mozart’s “Requiem” performed with The Edinburgh Players and Philip Coad on the organ. The soloists were Emma Morwood, Soprano, Colette Ruddy, Alto, David Douglas, Tenor and Phil Gault, Bass.
